Passion for perfection
Dental Laser Technology
Dental laser technology represents a significant advancement in modern clinical dentistry.
In many clinical situations, it reduces the need for conventional drilling and local anaesthesia during restorative procedures. Laser energy enables precise removal of decayed tissue — supporting a more controlled, efficient, and comfortable treatment experience, often without the use of traditional mechanical instruments or injections.
Laser-Assisted Periodontal Treatment
Dental laser therapy is also applied in the management of periodontal conditions, including gingivitis and periodontitis. Laser energy targets bacterial load and disrupts structured biofilm, while reducing inflammatory mediators — supporting effective treatment and improved periodontal stability over time.
Laser-Assisted Soft Tissue Management
By delivering concentrated energy as a controlled beam of light, dental laser technology supports the management of oral lesions — including ulcers — by reducing discomfort and accelerating tissue recovery.
In selected clinical cases, laser technology can complement or replace conventional surgical techniques, offering a minimally invasive alternative to traditional scalpel-based procedures.
The Clinical Advantages of Dental Laser Technology
- Reduced discomfort, often with minimal or no requirement for local anaesthesia
- Shorter treatment time and greater procedural efficiency
- Precise tissue management with reduced bleeding and faster post-operative recovery
- A controlled, calm treatment experience — supporting patient comfort and cooperation
- Treatment designed with a focus on precision, safety, and long-term clinical value
Dental laser technology is suitable for a wide range of patients — including children and adults, as well as individuals with specific medical considerations such as diabetes, cardiovascular conditions, or clotting disorders.
Clinical Advantages and Patient Suitability
At Yiannikos Center for Holistic Dentistry, our focus extends beyond oral care to overall health. For this reason, we have incorporated dental laser technology into multiple treatments since 2000. Dr Anna-Maria Yiannikos completed her Master’s Degree in Lasers in Dentistry in 2006 at RWTH Aachen University.
In addition, her clinical dedication led to the establishment of AALZ Cyprus, the first franchise of AALZ Germany, with an established record of advanced training seminars for Laser Safety Officer certification. In May 2006, she was awarded First Prize for Best Clinical Research at the Berlin International Conference on Lasers in Dentistry.
Since 2008, she has served as an Academic Fellow at RWTH Aachen University within the postgraduate program in Lasers in Dentistry.
Dr Anna Maria Yiannikos is also a co-author of “Laser International Magazine” published by Oemus Media, Leipzig, Germany.
In addition, all team members at Yiannikos Center for Holistic Dentistry participate in continuous training to maintain consistent clinical standards, reflecting our commitment to those who place their trust in our care.
